#14: Zamzar

This converter is ranked #14 in our comparison of free PDF to Word converter tools (i.e. out of 16 converters, it is #14).

Zamzar is an online service that converts many file formats to others, and was one of the earliest online tools that performed PDF to Word conversions. Alas, time has moved on, and other tools have come along that are technically superior. Still, you will get a converted file that looks like the original PDF when you open it; except that it will be harder to edit, the images, tables, and other elements harder to work with, etc.

Strengths: 100 MB max upload file size is very much on the large side for a service like this. File uploads go more or less smoothly. Renders active Hyperlinks. Converts to/from a wide range of formats.

Weaknesses: all the different elements (text/images/tables) hard to work with/edit. Tables simulated and at that they are done poorly.[/tabla]
